Shoreline Poetry News is a new, free newsletter to announce poetry events on the Connecticut shoreline from New Haven to New London and up to Middletown, approximately. The more people subscribe and post announcements, the more useful the newsletter will be. To subscribe and post announcements, go to http://kitchen-ink.org/about/129/announcement-lists.

Started in spring 2005, the Ordinary Evening reading series features both emerging and established writers in a monthly reading at the Anchor Bar Mermaid Room, downstairs. Borrowing its name from the poem "An Ordinary Evening in New Haven" by Wallace Stevens, the series aims to bring writers and audiences together in a no-fuss, informal environment to enjoy a little storytelling on a work-night. Readings are always on a Tuesday at 7pm, free of charge, both drinkers and teetotalers welcome.

The Yale-Readings Listserv is sponsored by the Yale Collection of American Literature, Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library. To post announcements about poetry and fiction readings, send the full text of the announcement, including contact information, to nancy.kuhl at yale.edu. Messages sent directly to the Yale-Readings list may not be posted.

This is a call for poems for The Parachute Poetry Blog, which I have
started independently and hope to keep alive. Unfortunately,
submissions have been lacking. I do not want to shut down the blog,
but I need poems - unpublished and previously published if you hold
copyright. I seek poems on any subject and in a variety of styles
including free verse, well-crafted sonnets, and formal poems as long
as meter and rhyme are handled with innovation. No firm length
requirements, but poems shorter than 25 lines stand a stronger chance.
Submit up to six poems at a time, once a month if you like. Send all
submissions to jme@johnmarkeberhart.com, or, if you find it simpler,
just reply to this email address.
